During the first week in march it was decided to incorporate the project SAFEADAPT to the 4th EV Cluster.
The main objective of the SafeAdapt project is to enrich networked embedded systems in e-vehicles with adaptivity, while preserving functional and non-functional requirements – especially functional safety.

From 1st to 4th December 2015, the European Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Congress was held at Brussels.
This European Electric Vehicle Congress strengthens its position as global platform to foster exchange of views between the R&D, the industry, the authorities, end-users and the NGO’s actors, so to develop synergies in the field of eMobility.

The manufacturing of second generation (G2) cells was successfully completed. The cells have been delivered to testing partners and laboratory testing has already started. A simplified ageing testing matrix has been agreed and is been used for G2 cells.Find out more.

For 17 years, the Batteries event still remains one of the World’s most attractive event and the meeting place of technologies (lead acid, NiMH, Li-ion, Post Li-ion), applications (from micro batteries to large format batteries) and of the value chain (chemists OEMs and end users).
BATTERIES2020 project was present in that occasion at the three days dedicated poster sessions scheduled in the event.
The BATTERIES2020 Consortium held its fifth Internal Technical Workshop between the 16th and 17th of September 2015 in RWTH-ISEA facilities, Aachen, Germany. On May 27th, representatives from all of the 4th Generation Electric Vehicle (EV) Cluster Project (iCOMPOSE | IMPROVE | INCOBAT | eDAS | Batteries2020) and the project coordinator of the already finalized OpEneR project attended a conference in Graz. While the morning was devoted to technical presentations, the audience was splitted in the afternoon into three parallel working groups sessions.
The 28th World Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (http://www.evs28.org/) took place on May 3-6, 2015, in Goyang, Korea. Since 1969, the EVS series has been held every 12-18 months rotating among North America, Europe and Asia, and has become the utmost academic forum for sharing experience and global networking. The EVS exhibition has become the core program of the EVS symposium and premier showcase for all forms of technologies, and attracts academic, government and industry leaders from around the world interested in exploring and understanding the technical, policy and market challenges to the paradigm shift toward the use of electric transportation technologies.
Batteries2020 was represented at this major Conference and Exhibition event through the VUB and EUROBAT. VUB delivered several papers and presentations at the Technical and Dialogue Sessions at the EVS28 Conference.
The BATTERIES2020 Consortium held its fourth Internal Technical Workshop between the 16th and 17th of February 2015 in VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) facilities, Brussels (Belgium). The occasion was attended by all project partners. Our colleague Lide Rodriguez from IK4-IKERLAN took part in the European Green vehicles Initiative expert workshop dedicated to the topic of `Testing of Electric Vehicle Performance and Safety’ which was held in Brussels on Thursday 3 July 2014 and was organized by the European Green vehicles Initiative Association.

The test standardisation procedures amongst Batteries2020 partners have been set. Ageing matrices from WP4 (RWTH-ISEA), WP5 (VUB) and WP6 (IK4-IKERLAN) were distributed and the test of about 250 identical cells will start in week 21. Reference G1 cells are ready to be distributed to all involved partners and the results from initial standardisation and statistical analysis are expected to be ready in July 2014Find out more.
Results on thermal investigations will be presented in the European Electric Vehicle Conference 2014 (EEVC 2014) in Brussels on 3-5 December 2014.
An update of the results will be presented in the Electric Vehicle Symposium 2014 (EVS 28),
that will take place at Goyang, South Korea and is scheduled on 3-5 May 2015.
An approach for using a second life battery energy storage system in a residential application in order to minimize the operation cost of a household considering the price tariffs from Spain, the cost of the battery system and the degradation of the battery will be presented in the IEEE International Conference of Industrial Technology (ICIT) which is going to be held on 17-29 March 2015 in Seville.
The BATTERIES2020 Consortium hold its first Internal Technical Workshop on the 7th and 8th of April 2014. Representatives from all project partners took part in the meeting. The EU-funded project Batteries 2020, officially launched in September 2013, aims at enhancing the lifetime and energy density of lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.
